This clearly bigger 13-year kid did a late hit on the football dad's son during a pop warner football game. The football dad came on the field and defended his son. I am not sure if I wouldn't have done the same thing for my son. Also when as by MSNBC the kid who did the late hit said he did see what he did wrong. The late kids mother showed no remorse for what her son did to the football dad's son. She was only concerned what her son being hit by the coach. Even though the father was wrong, As a father I understand why the father hit the child. It was in defense of his son being hit late by the other child who don't think he did anything wrong. At least the father showed remorse and apologized for what he did.

All the answers seem to be the same and I guess you are all right. I just think he "late hit" child should take accountability for his actions. "Boys will be Boys" of all ages.

There is, was and never will be an acceptable excuse for what the father/coach did. He should be banned from coaching at any level for life.

The issue of late hits/personal fouls should be handled by the game officials. If the official misses the incident, the coach should bring the incident to the referee's attention. Should the referee continue to allow this to happen, a complaint/protest should be filed with the head of officiating at the league office.

Under no circumstances should a coach/spectator strike a player.

It is neither your fault nor your daughters fault that she got pregnant at the age of 13, women for ages have always had unplanned pregnancies. I commend your daughter for choosing to keep the baby and give him life......that's more then 90% of the women out there would have done. Sometimes taking the hard road is the most rewarding in the end. It sounds as though your daughter may just need some guidance in learning how to prioritize and multitask now that she has a new life with new responsibilities. Discuss some options with her and let her know that maybe after the baby goes down to sleep that she can work on her homework, when she won't be interrupted. Maybe she could take the baby out the park in his stroller and let him enjoy the fresh air while she catches up on homework. Just explain to her that her needs no longer come first and that once the needs of the baby are met, then she can worry about herself. once she starts practicing this then she will get used to it and will eventually be able to do this on her own....Good luck!

I know what you're saying, but I don't think there's any justification for an adult man hitting a 13-year-old boy. The boy admitted he was wrong. An adult hitting a minor because of a late hit is no defense. Wrong is wrong. An adult is supposed to set an example. What example could possibly be set by hitting a child. Your "argument" doesn't hold up. An apology from the "out-of-control" adult was pretty empty to me.

OH BULL. Talk about justifiying a WRONG. Did you WATCH the play live or just replays. Because unless you saw it LIVE then I don't think you saw something the rest of us didn't. Now assuming that case if you need to defend your son when he is in Pop Warner then you should get your son out of the game. What if your kid is tackled you will go drop kick the guy who brought him down? I saw the replays and to say that was a late hit may be true BUT it wasn't a cheap shot style late hit. It was a simply messed up late hit from my view. That's why the kid doesn't really see what he did wrong, because it wasn't an attempt to injure.

This man(sic) showed his stupidity with his actions. This proves my point that there has to be fences around the fields so ignorant parents can not enter the field.
The late hit from the player the dad knocked down was wrong and the boy would have been ejected had I been an official there (I am an official in another state and we have it in the rules that blatnant late hits will be ejected).
The dad should face charges of assault, child abuse, and tresspassing for coming on the playing field.

I can understand why the father did it. But it doesn't make it right. As a coach, he should know better than to go on the field and hit younger child. I hope he gets a harsh punishment and the legal system make an example of him to other coaches and parents. Let the kids fight their own battles.

The coach is an adult and should be able to control his violent impulses. If it were another adult who had attacked his son, fine, but although it was a "cheap shot" it's part of the game of football and was done by another child.

The coach was wrong and should be punished for his actions.

Under NO circumstances should a Dad hit a 13 y.o. kid in that kind of manner. NONE, ZERO, ZIP, NADA.

If the kid late hit, something that happens in football btw, then it should be settled on the field. PERIOD, end of story.

See, this is what is wrong with the world. An adult hitting a child during a sporting event, and others applauding it. Pathetic.
"Boys will be boys", yes that is true. But can they ever be an honorable man when they have such poor examples.

you have to realize there's a fine line you don't cross and he crossed it

30 year old men have no business hitting 13 year old kids who are in a sport where yes, kids will get cheap shotted, but it is a physical game
