"a dream is a wish your heart makes.." Yadda Yadda...

But really, a dream you make when you are a little child can guide you to a career that will make you happy. It gives you something to look forward to, and we set various dreams throughout our lives.

Everyone has the career dream as a child.. Then when you get to high school maybe that dream has changed to going to college and going into a different field. Or it could be to settle down and get married and have a family.

Dreams help us decide what will make us happy in our lives. Its something to look forward to and to base the future on.

Your question is ambiguous. By dreams do you mean of the sleeping variety, or aspirations? Dreams when asleep are not important in the slightest, aspirations - or dreams of what we can achieve - are vital for mental well-being. Anyone without a dream has no target and will achieve nothing. Even if a dream is never realised it has given the person something to strive for, and in the quality of life department it is a vital factor for human happiness.

I think that T Time has misinterpreted your question. Am I not right?
I believe you refer the word "dreams" to ambitions, missions in life. Am I not right, once again?
If I am right, then I would let you consider this statement:
What motivates Walt Disney to build Disneyland?
What motivates a high school student to achieve distiction in his O Level Exam?
What pushes a university student to be chosen as the head of the student council?
What pushes a worker to work hard day and night?
You would find that the answer is only one:

A dream.

It motivates yoy. Without dream, you are going to find yourself walking along a narrow street, not knowing what to do. If you haev a dream, you know your destination well, you know your mission. You would do everything to achieve it.

As I have said, dream guides your life.

Hope this helps

"..in life?" Perhaps it could be "...to life".

Connections between the conscious and the unconscious is important "to one's life". A life lived through a "I want, I will do, and I see it this way" is only a "tip of the Iceberg" experience of a greater life that is possible.

Imagine if you can, that the "view" of your experiences could actually be greater than what your eyes and mind can comprehend.

Perhaps those dreams are insights to those other "views" of meanings.

Cheers

Dreams help you to sort things out in your life on a subconscious level, and to have a recurring dream, or nightmare, it's because you haven't resolved a particular problem that needs your attention.

Because some are about to happen in our lives that's why we have to pray about the dreams we have.
