Are you asking about a possible world series match up? If so I'd say the Yankees are the better team. Their offense is superior to the Mets and would win a seven games series in 5 or 6 games.

Yankees. They have a better history. They are the most storied team in the history of the MLB and all sports. They have the most world series wins in the whole MLB, by a landslide! The Mets may be the 1st right now in the MLB, with the Yankees in 3rd, BUT, this is only this year. I bet it'll be another couple of years after this, that the Mets even GET to the playoffs. So, Mets fan...enjoy this year. The Yankees have gone to the postseason for YEARS...and they've been the AL EAST champs for 10 years bye

Yankees all the way. Player by player= Yankees If it comes down to a subway series the Yankees will thrive. They proved that in 2000. Yankee pitching will dominate the Mets. Sorry. I believe that the subway series will take 6 games. Yankees

I like the Mets because they look like they just enjoy what they do and are all great friends. If you ever read any articles about them, it says that they are all best friends and thats what wins games, good teamwork. Im not saying the Yankees arent all good buddies but I think the Mets are just having fun and also have the best record in Baseball. Really though, I want to see a subway series really badly, thats why I root for each team nowadays.

What is exactly the question--
For sheer dominance through collecting the supposedly best players at each position each year--the Yankees take that category hands down.
For winning through teamwork and personal chemistry among each other, the Mets are the best--no big superstars, only several key players doing thier best like Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Lo Duca and Delgado.
