I think it sounds like they think of you as a little girl. People should choose their words more carefully. Sometimes a complimenet is an insult.

I HATE that. I am a professional with a Master's Degree working in healthcare, and I've doctors and nuses call me little girl. I know I look young, but people, have some respect. I find it disrespectful and demeaning.

When you get older you will relish this comment. I love it when people call me good girl, it makes me feel young and competent. Only someone who is insecure with their own standing would question a compliment like this. If you felt that you were a woman, then it wouldn't bother you one bit if someone called you girl. It isn't what people say that define who you are, it is your own actions.

It depends on how you respond to it....
It obviously mean that you deserve a pat on your shoulders for having done something good for that person, or that you deserve it for having a job well done....think positive my dear.....at least you will let someone know how valued you are!!
