What is more scary? Checking them yourself, after getting proper advice on how to do it from the practice nurse at your doctors' surgery. She will show you how to do it correctly. Or ignoring it, and risk getting a breast cancer that may be advanced and/ or fatal eventually? No contest really is there? Be a grown up and take responsibility for your own health. The alternative is unthinkable .

If you are scared, then talk to someone about why you are scared. Seek a solution to that first.
Getting someone else to check is a distant second choice because that person may not be available month after month.
On a partly serious note, there might be some guys that would volunterr to check your breasts out, but will they be there each month?

A doctor on the radio, Dr. Dean Adel said once that women should check the guy's testicles for lumps and men check the woman's breast for lumps.
I check my wife's breasts because she doesn't do it herself. She just had the boob squeeze (mammagraphy) and is ok.
Also, guys do get breast cancer. In some boys when puberty starts, breast tissue starts grow and it's that small amount that can turn cancerous.

Don't be afraid! Make an appointment with your doctor and have him or her show you how to do it properly and discuss what you are looking for. This can help calm your fears and keep you from assuming every little thing is something. You can ask any questions you can think of.
And remember, if you DID find something, it's much better to find it early on so that you can do something about it. You are taking care of your health by doing this!

I felt like you, and when I did I found a lump and trust me you'll know one when you find it, You just cant imagine one being there if theres not. It turned out to be a fatty lump. Thank god.
Please check, it's only you there, it's your body try it in the shower as you wash. remember to raise your arm above your head when checking.

you need to get over being paranoid. if you don't check your breast you won't know if something is different. i checked mine and i'm glad i did cause i did find something that wasn't there before and it was cancer. that was in 1998. hey i'm still here. if i didn't notice the difference i probably wouldn't be here talking to you.
