Mavis Beacon and Timon & Pumba ((Lion King))have great CD roms. They were available to me from our city library....FREE!

The best way to learn how to touch type, is to look half at the keyboard and half at the screen.
Here's a cool site that will test your touch typing skills.

You can usually get a typing program for 9.99 at Best Buy, Circuit City, ect. They may not have any copies of Mavis Beacon at that price because they just released a new version but get her's if you see it.

Why don't you just put dish towel over your hands on the keyboard so that it will keep you from looking down at your fingers?

I learnt with MSN =] If you find someone who you speak to on a daily basis, you find you type a HELL of a lot every night. You'll get more accustomed to the position of the keys subconciously, whilst having a fun chat - instead of trying to copy what someone else tells you to type. I can touch type quite well now thanks to MSN =D

i dont know , but why dont you just open the notepad and start by writing your name without looking at the keyboard?
then write your mother's name, your father's, brothers, sisters, cousins name and pet's name
do this everyday until you know you are ready, thats easy

actually you can buy a cd at office depot. it is called typing with mavis beacon or something like that. she can teach you how to type without looking.
