Depends on the physical location, and your budget. Either way, it should be something that requires effort and thoughtfulness on your part.

You could do a special meal or something to gather everyone together.

You could put together a special photo album or scrapbook for each person, and deliver it in person.

Take out an ad in a magazine or newspaper.

Have flowers delivered to each person

Help them out where they really need it most - cleaning their house, paying a bill, picking up kids at school, mowing the lawn, whatever.

Make/Create something unique for everyone. I've done custom paintings, cross stitch, pottery and stained glass gifts for close family, and they are always the most respected gifts.

A hug and a smile.A simple thank you coupled together with a few heart felt words goes a long way.
This is a great question, why did you feel like you had to hide "appreciate them"?

When you do appreciate somebody really from your heart, it will appear in your smile, your first reaction when you see them and blind instant comments.
Try to overlook materialistic appreciation, showering them with money and gifts show you lack emotional expression, and thats what really counts in appreciation, true emotions.

Write them each a personal letter if they're far apart, or organise a get-together and tell them all together, a bit like a speech if they all live relatively close-by.

Cards work miracles. Heartfelt cards with mushy things said on the inside. You can also hand make cards. That's so much fun.
