A few reasons come to mind,they want to know that the client can market there product,have a steady and increasing order,
they can represent the product as it was intended, and have
an ability to draw the demographics that the supplier is looking for.

It all boils down to payment efficiency apart from the brand name some of them had established over the years. Others may had tied-up agreements with other clients to cover certain areas.

of course to secure their investment not go for nothing coz if the client they are not good payor then the suppliers will lost too much.
