You of course are only talking about western culture and modern culture. Men and women in other parts of the world wear different clothing that you might interpret as skirts or pants but they don't think about their clothes this way. Many men wear clothes that aren't trousers and are more actually like what women wear, just other kinds of differences. In history the Romans, the Ancient Greeks, etc., had men who wore what we today would call skirts. They didn't think they were cross dressing! It is all in our perception, fashion and gender definitions of our time and culture.

I do not think so! Look, how many women wear trousers around the world compared to men who wear dresses? By the way, who determined the designs for women's and men's wear in the first place? I think in the beginning, we were all born/created naked and some bias of some sort was in place during designing the wear for both sexes. You are free to wear any!

because a lot of women's clothes were redesigned from those of men's. Pants, to be exact. It used to be frowned upon in society when women would wear pants. Now it's an everyday thing. Women are sort of cross-dressing without thinking about it. Men that wear dresses do so I think because it's not acceptable in society for them to do this, well not completely accepted anyway.

Your joking right.
So women never wear pants?
Jockey underwear isn't selling to women now?
I see women wearing ties
The difference is women can wear anything from mens shirts to underwear and no one says a thing.
Men can't and most of us don't want to. But I do think you are way off base in this question.

Look again. It is hard for me, at the moment, to think of any article of men's clothes that women haven't co-opted—maybe the jock strap. From Katheryn Hepburn's suits and slacks to today's jeans and jockey shorts. It is so commonplace that women don't even recognize the earlier gender differences any longer.

Grin. Woman wear their guys things all the time. A guy wearing woman's clothing is thought to be femine, gay, whatever....Guys don't wish to look girlish and weak in public. Behind closed doors is another story. There is an element of danger here, a flittering too close to the flame...which is an attraction all of it's own.
Women wearing their guys boxer shorts, and his shirts, out in public, is seen to be trying to be comfy, close to her guy, or dressing practical for weather conditions and level of whatever activity she is doing.
I love wearing guy button up shirts :)

culture has a lot to do with defining men and women. men are not encouraged to be soft, with their emotions, communications ect... so wouldn't there be a natural fascination about what that is like and that women's clothing is generally soft, sensual, and smell like the feminine in comparison to what they are used to having to wear. could it be an attempt to understand what the feminine experience is like.

I think men see women as being "sexy" so if they wear womens clothes they probably feel "sexy" like a lady and think we (female) might find it attractive.
That is my theory anyway.
