I know how you feel, I'm a 38 year old man facing the same future. But dont write yourself off, youre still young and your Mr Right might be just round the corner. Be strong and independent, eat some chocolate, buy youself something nice, get a pet, go to the gym, flirt a bit. good luck and have fun.

Hi,Maria, I am sorry to hear that your parents are ill, but they would not want you to be unhappy. You must stop feeling sad, because this will show in your face and the way you act, and nobody likes someone who looks miserable all the time. Cheer up, smile a lot, go out and meet new people- maybe start doing something that interests you,or something you've always wanted to try. Then you will meet people who like the same things as you. I'm sure you will find somebody soon. Anyway, with a name like Maria I'm sure you're a very pretty young 39 year old. Good luck, and cheer up! Love, Misterviv xx

48 male. have a good life, good job, loads of friends. Nearly always busy. The world is full of single people who are happy and contented. Being happy is also very attractive to others. Suggest you worry less and do more! See where life takes you. And if needs be get a short, low dossage of anti depressents. Your depression may actually be stopping you from getting on with your life in the first place.

I agree, join a singles club or get involved in charity work, or as a volunteer visitor at your local hospital. You will meet a wide range of different people, make alot of friends and hopefully find you feel you've done something worthwhile whilst trying to solve your own fears. Good luck.

In my case, I feel a tremendous sense of freedom. I'm 65 years old and have never gotten all the hype about how wonderful family and friends are. I've always been very independent and never needed anyone's company.

You lack friendship, I think you should try to develop relationship, just don't be desperate now and make wrong choices. Are you a member of any clubs, group, association? try to join one and hopefully you'll form friends, get an email buddy, There, i'm liking you already! ta!
