I live in texas all my life. Went to a university school. It depends what your looking for. If you just want to party and go to lots of social events, I would go to UT austin (hard to find cheap rent).

If you want a good school and learn a lot find out what schools specialize in different degrees. For instance, for nursing it would be TWU, for law it would be SMU, for business it would be TCU, for engineering it would be UTA (arlington).

If you want a decent education, cheap I would go to a junior college like TCC, tarrant county college and then transfer to either UT in arlington or UNT.

All college universities have special events, you just got to find them. Security is fine at all of them.

People, well if you want diversity, then go to UTA *arlington, if you want young good looking party types go to UT austin/

If you want intelligent people go to RICE.

Weather is just plain hot hot hot.

Hi ,

I want to study in Houston next year. I'M an international student but I was living as an au pair in Houston a few years ago . I can tell you : It's very warm and humid , there are many nice places to go to , campus life ( I also want to know how the student life is) , and the surroundings are very nice also . I do really like it ! But it's only my opinion , one opinion of many others....

Texas is a huge state with lots of different cities, you need to be more specific about what city/school you're talking about.

I never went to school there but Austin is a fabulous place to live. It gets really hot, you'll have to get used to that, but it's a great, great place to be, especially when you're young.
