A seated president can have charges brought against him (impeachment) These are limited to high crimes and misdemeanors. The question that was covered in the Clinton impeachment was what constitutes a high crime or misdemeanor. It was determined that anything above a civil infraction is fair game. In Clintons case it was sexual harassment and lieing to a court.
I beleive that what Bush has done falls under the high crimes, (which include treason) and should be tried!

write yr congressman. Do you know who he/she is? Mine is up for reelection this year. He is a republican and I am voting against him. Small steps before big jumps.
Anyway remember Nixon? He jumped ship but part of the deal is that Ford would pardon him. If Dubya felt the fires of impeachment and the wrath of the nation he'd resign, Cheney would pardon him, Cheney would have another heart attack (not exactly a down side)Then we'd have to live with Frist.

Don't misunderstand me...I support our troops, but I think it is time for a thorough Senate Investigation...I mean serious investigation! My greatest concern is:
How were we so vulnerable to be attacked?
How come some people in the Intel Agencies saw indicators, and nothing was done. I mean, there was a young female CIA officer, like she just became one, worked her butt off, was working one night on her own, saw some indicators that 4 of the hijackers were in America, she also read some Intel reports from overseas indicating there would be an attack on America. She gave these the next morning..I mean she stayed all night, and in the morning she gave them to her boss, he reviewed them and told her..I don't see no relevance in any of this...come on.. this is the stuff that needs to get investigated!

He can be impeached. But not until after the mid term elections, and only if control of congress reverts to prudent, responsible Democratic leadership.

the president is not above the law. He can and SHOULD be impeached and tried for his criminal actions, including the loss of thousands of lives of Americans AND Iraquis. He should be JAILED for his response to the victims of Katrina.

Your question is of academic interest only as it will never happen... The ones who control the money make the laws and right now the ones who control the oil have the money and Bush is their front man.

I suppose he can, and as far as I am concern he should, he is not just a liar but also a murderer, sending his own people to fight his war.
