I don't have my instruction manual and I know there is a simple way to reset the maintence required light. I have recently had an oil change and they didn't reset it. I know that after every few thousand miles it needs to be reset and doesn't necessarily indicate a problem with the car.

Also... does anyone know if you can make a backup of your navigation disk? Will it work?

I know my 2004 civic works like this... turn the ignition to the ON position and hold down your trip reset buton. The maint req'd light should blink indicating that it is reset.

Purchase the proper Honda maintainance manual. Look it up. If you have a car for any period of time this manual will pay for itself many times over. It costs less than an hour of labor at the dealer. There are cheaper aftermarket manuals out there but the certified Honda manual for your car will have information more specific to your car.
