It could well be moved to the USA as well. I read from an "insider" at FIFA that Blatter is really worried about South Africa but FIFA re-elctions are due in 2007. He wants another term as President but he needs the African vote to secure it. The thinking is that once re-elected then towards the middle of 2007 when Soth Africa fails to deliver then it will be moved. South Africa has too many problems with crime,HIV/AIDS,lack of infrastructure to be hosting such a prestigious event and whilst the thought was noble it should never have gone there. FIFA cannot guarantee Stadiums will be ready or of sufficient quality but most of all it cannot guarantte the safety of any fans who go there. The South African Government cannot even guarantee the safety of it's own citizens so how on Earth are they going to protect visitors? In the interests of avoiding a disaster they should move it to somewhere where guarantees can be given.

No. There was a stage where everybody was concerned about that because of the crime and transportation but it is now official and the 2010 World Cup will be held in South Africa. It will in no way be moved to Australia or any other country unless South Africa disappears over night before the 2010 World Cup which i doubt will happen.

Im looking forward to the 2010 and i'll be right there watching the games!!!

The only way the World Cup could be moved anywhere is, if, South Africa is suffering from unrest. And FIFA come to the conclusion that it would be dangerous for the other Countries to take their squad`s there. I do not think it will happen as South Africa seem to be on the ball,( excuse the pun ).
