Have just been given a young plant. Want it in a pot outside the front door, however this only gets the sun first thing in the morning. Is this enough or does it need to be in full sun round the back of the house?

First of all, keep in its pot if you want to bring it back in the house and overwinter it. (It should also be said that a passion flower is one of those houseplants that blooms best if it is grown in a root-crowded pot.)

Light? Inside never put it directly by a window, especially a sunny, south-facing one. Outside? It has been said that this plant has a "passion" for light, but I would recommend it to be placed on the sunny east side of your house and not the south side.

It will need lots of sun through out the day. I was given a cutting and put it straight into the ground, it is getting really big, growing too quickly really and it's nearly the end of summer as such..Mines on my side wall (next doors garage wall) and the sun is there from morning till dusk..

The Passion Flower is a desert plant, so it will need a full day of sunlight in order to survive.

I have a passion flower in quite a shady part in my garden (Its under the neighbours tree) and over the summer it grew loads. I personally think its a weird looking thing, the kids love it though.
