Besides family and loved ones and pets, what is one possession you would try to save, if you heard on the radio that you had an hour to prepare yourself for the worst?

besides friends and family....
1) my "grab & go box" - contains all important documents (insurance, mortgage, car), some cash, open credit card, couple pictures, few sentimental things. Tax information for this current year!
2) large pictures - not snapshots, rather larger items that were brought over when they immigrated and have been in the family for years
3) jewerly box that my dad gave my mom as an engagement present (with the interior contents of course!!)
4) laptop & iMac
5) blue tarp, tent, extra clothes, ax & tools, fire ant killer, bug spray, rubber boots.... things for the clean up after
6) food & water
7) first aid kit with some heavy duty supplies
8) some clothes
after the first few the rest would pretty well be my hurricane supplies - camping stove, propane, etc. anything that you would need if displaced. everything else can be replaced!
to the poster commenting n the snapshots - use photoworks - i've been since '93 and they have all the pictures i've ever processed with them archived for me on line - it's wonderful!!

A fascinating question to which I drew a blank, except to think that I might bring my old photos down from under the roof. Then I thought, it's not "what " but "who?" I'd be making sure all my neighbours and friends in the area knew it was coming and then sit downstairs and hope for the best. Our houses are old and stone or brick -built so we might be safe downstairs

He had probable heard many circumstances that that's safer to be in a basement or a closet and that "voice" change into merely his personal recommendations in overdrive. not often impressive. and what's the competition, besides? God despatched a message to this guy, yet did not tell his pals a thanks to live on, and flung them with the help of the line? seems somewhat idiotic for a god, methinks.

photos because they are my memories and jewellry because i could maybe sell it to get us back on our feet
