we had no children the house is in both names although mortage was direct debit out of her account together for ten years had house for five she now says she wants it all seperated 6 months

Well is she going to be in for a shocker. Married no kids splits everything from the date of marriage till the end 50 / 50. Unless she can prove you paid nothing towards supporting the marriage.

Get a good lawyer your in for a fight but you will win if you contributed money to other things in the house up to include improvements, up keep, taxes, food, heat, insurances etc, etc and etc...

I agree that it does, to some extent, depend upon where you live, as division of property depends on what state you're in; however, I don't believe that ANY state would award one spouse 100% of all assets, with 0% going to the other spouse. The courts in general do try to make an equitable division, particularly in "no-fault" divorce states (i.e., MI, WI, etc.).

If you are legally married and have the documents now, both of you have the right to your assets.. That's in accordance with the law..

no,she can"t get everything if you can also prove that you were a contributing member to the family.but surely you know that judges love women and the wording of the question leads me to believe she contributed more financialy to the marriage. i am sure the judge will let you have some of you"re clothes.
