My friend told me you do something with a jug and water, can anyone explain?

well you can buy your own, or bring lots from the states. hhhehehhee
But culturally, Indians prefferably use water to wash their errm, privates, after doing their thing. They perceive it as more hygenic.
The jug thing is more like a teapot, with a snout, its filled with water and you can use that to wash "there". It is found in most toilets, lest replaced by a 'modern" version which is a press button shower.
Which places will you visit? Where will you stay? I dont think that you're going backpacking there, so this won't be a problem. There are lots of top hotels there with world class standards. If you are going it "rough" then dont! You don't seem to be the type that can survive one.

Yeah, squat toilets, small jug o water, hold under, splash and wash bum with LEFT hand. That's why they eat with their right hand.
Depending on where you are going and at what level of accommodation you choose, there are some western style toilets and SOME either supply or tell you where to buy toilet paper.
DEFINITELY try to avoid using the toilets on the trains.

Better take some just in case. When my sis-in-law visited Libya some years ago,you just had to find a nice smooth stone to finish up with.When they built a new airport with proper toilets,guess what was at the bottom of them?Yes.......smooth stones and the paper was still hanging there.

actually in the toilet there supply of hot and cold water with valves you just open them and spraycomes and is washing your bottom

yes toilet paper is there...but it dont come free..take plenty of money with you coz u will have to buy it in store
