Maybe with both parents working to give their children things that they didn't have--and to compete with the Jones, they just haven't had time to spend time with the children to teach them much of anything. Children have to learn it from their circle of friends and then they each compete with each other to see who can outdo the other in stupidity. My opinion.

Very good question. It is my belief that in the quest for equality in this country the standards for normal and common have been lowered so much that what use to be considered stupid is now considered common. Therefore common sense hasn't when anywhere, it just isn't as common as it use to be.
