A number of reasons- firstly, if you go through life being very 'natuural' other people notice this and , to be honest, they are often envious of it. The people who are natural sense this and so underplay it in order to be accepted, which can actually make them feel unhappy.

In the work place, people are compelled or made to be nice to people that they don't necessarily admire or like in order to retain their custom.

Children tend to be the most natural people, generally, as they realise the hypocrises of the adult world and are not expected to make allowances for it. And why should they?

I think it is because being the 'ruling species', we have come so far technologically, scientifically and in the realm of thought that we have completely separated ourselves from our 'noble savage' state. It would be seen as a hundred steps backwards to suddenly consider ourselves at one with nature again which is very sad in many ways. If we totally lose track of what we all have in common as a species then human problems will continue to worsen.
