When you create a resume, You need to make sure you have a creative graphic layout, a good layout of relevant information, and you especially need to provide proof why you are the best choice for the employer. SERIOUSLY!!! if you have an attractive resume with a good graphic layout, they will put you in their lime light. PLUS when you say something like... in my work experience X, I was part of the project management team to act as a medium to clients. or something so good that you will be seen as, "i'll hire her or him".

Plus they like it when you give examples of what you have done in things you have done. For me, I had to put my greatest asset, it was my skill in computer aided design. I then told them that I am well versed and flexible in using many CAD software. That way, they won't have to teach you and lose time.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT BE CHEAP. THEY DO NOT LIKE TIGHT @$$ PEOPLE. Print your resume on the best and most impressive material. They will see you are not cheap.

does this help?

You need to be creative, stress what you can do for them instead of a lot of "about you" stuff. Nobody cares about your "hobbies."

And dazzle people about what you did, not just when and where you worked.

I know of one fellow who uses a marketing brochure about himself, along with a blog or website about his sales accomplishments and doesn't use resumes. Worn out phrases and worn in gazes won't get you where you want to go, nor will dry, dull resumes.
