I think I've heard it is but it doesn't make much sense, since it's pretty much in between Canada and Europe.

I've always wondered about that, too. Technically it is part of europe, but geographically it doesn'tt seem to be.

Yes, it's part of Europe as a continent. Iceland is not part of the EU, though.

Iceland is part of Europe - they gained their independence from Denmark during WWII.

yes, it's part of Europe, as well as Greenland, which is even farther west than Iceland

Yes I think it is part of Scandinavia, sort of. Greenland is considered part of North America geologically, part of Europe politically. It's a cultural and geological thing.
