If you have to ask, not likely. If you wanted to be happy, then you'd already be happy.

Albert Einstein made a remarkable statement. He said, "Ultimately, each person has to decide whether his universe is benevolent or hostile".

Life is not meant to be a struggle. It should flow with effortless ease.

The universe is benevolent.
If you will only learn how to romance it, the universe will lovingly orchestrate an infinite number of details so that events and circumstances will bring love, joy, peace, and prosperity into your life. It is truly possible.

Search inside yourself. That is where you will find your answers.

Jesus said, "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness...'
In another place he said, "...the kingdom of heaven is inside you". That is where you should look. He says what to do, then he says where to do it.

There is an ancient Persian proverb that I like:
"Seek truth in meditation, not in moldy books. Look to the sky to find the moon, not in the pond."

May I invite you to read Ancient Wisdoms 1 & 2 at http://TaoBarbie.com ? The site does not encourage anyone to change religions. It simply gives some ideas and asks you to think.

Peace

We have a choice to choose the feelings we want to feel at any given moment in our life. If you feel sad that is because you choose to feel it. When you watch comedy you laugh with the jokes and you are happy. When you watch sad movies you can become sad. Like watching movies, there are images in our mind that makes us unhappy. Choose the images in your mind correctly. I mean if you have the correct thoughts, than you can and will be happy. Its really our thoughts that controls our feelings. Together (thoughts and feelings) determine the sum of our experience in life. Think about it. When you think of the dead one or remember a sad memory, how do you feel? On the other hand when you imagine a beautiful scene e.g enjoying urself with friends at the beach, how do u feel? Dont think of unwanted images. Keep the attention focused on positive thoughts and look always at the bright side. Happiness is really a choice. Choice is yours.

Many people drift through life letting it happen to them rather than deciding on a goal and working towards it. I believe the people who actually take the time to figure out what they want and make a plan to achieve it are the happiest.

Isn't is strange that we will plan out something like a party to the smallest detail, but for our very lives we just tend to drift through them?

Be happy...

I remember when I used to ask myself this question. I was very young, in my middle to late teenage years, and on into my early twenties. Obviously, you are the one to determine this. I can only tell you what I did to overcome a horrific childhood, and some very bad early decisions (on choice of life partner, etc.) First, read. Get some of your questions answered. does anything make you happy? then do it. does something(s) make you unhappy? get rid of it - you don't need it in your life. get other peoples "voices" out of your head -- you're your own person, with your own life to live, by your own standards - no one else's. get a little bit of counselling. determine to live your life as you want. its all a process that takes time, but it can be very fun getting there. and then one more thing:

picture yourself in the middle of a lake, with no land around you anywhere. then picture a lifeboat just a short distance away. now imagine how much energy you'd exert to reach that lifeboat. imagine how much focus you'd have - you wouldn't be thinking about anything else but reaching that boat. Achieving a place of peace is that "boat". You do whatever it takes to get to that place of peace, to the same degree you'd exert to get into that lifeboat. and do whatever it takes to stay there.

You can get there, and its not up to anybody else but you. I wish you the very best.

if you think back im sure there have been times you've been happy with your life, they will come again. Unless you are doing something on a daily basis that is breaking you down, as far as going against your morals and values. I suggest switching your lifestyle in that case.

No because happiness is impermanent. You can be happy for a while but all things are in a constant state of change. You can however change your outlook on things, and end suffering. Look into Buddhism.

I don't think any of us can answer that simply because we are not you. Maybe you might like to read up about Maslows theory on the hirachy of needs. Supposedly if you pass through the different stages you become closer to personal fulfilment. I can see some logic in it.

Why not?

a human is born to help others
as they are our mates, be it,
our room mate, classmate, countrymate or worldmate

we can get a permanent happiness by making others happy
and doing what we like to do
but simultaneously seeing tht others are not harmed by that
