No one in history with maybe the exception of T.E. Lawrence has been able to unite the arab world. The muslims have been at odds with each other (sunni vs. shia) since the mid seventh century.
I think you have a long way to go before you see any unification there.

on a superficial level it is uniting them but at deeper level it is causing a different form of fragmentation. many young Muslims are attracted by directness of a jihad and by the black and white answers of some fundamentalist groups. but more thoughtful people realize that the form that the terrorist attacks are taken are out of sheer spite and hatred rather than aiming at any final conclusion of the problems between the Islamic world and the west. any fool knows that the attack on the world trade centre galvanized the American people's support for a right wing Iislamophobic government. it caused the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, led to the political and economic cowing of many other Islamic counties. is that what bin laden wants? one characteristic of western nations is that they do not compromise with enemies, they fight until they are utterly destroyed. bin laden has allowed the neo-cons the opportunity to unleash the military power on the Islamic world. they will not stop until they have won or destroyed us all. there's fragmentation for you.

There is an old saying.."one mans terrorist as another mans freedom fighter"..We in the 'west' have always had trouble understanding Islam!..Jihad has been constantly misunderstood, mostly by Muslim fanatics, They 'hate' everybody, even eachother, Observe the religious factional battles that go on between them all the time!..When you have a 'religion' that is literaly based on hate, hate the unbeliever, convert by the sword, death to all infidels, this sort of stuff, they will never unite!..Mouth frothing religious lunacy forbids it!..Unfortunatly its going to end up in a major world war and Islam will be utterly destroyed in it!..But the maniacs in Islam actually want this to happen, they see it as their passport to paradise!..No, they will never be united while all the factions hate each other so much!

you are probably right - Islamaphobia is so closely matched with racism even though being Muslim is not colour dependent. A lot of Muslim practises are abhorrent, but, when racist idiots use anti-Muslim rhetoric to cover up their racist behaviour it only reinforces Muslim beliefs.

It is counterproductive to kill a soul to win souls...In regards to the Surah 5:32 "prevent the spread of corruption in the world" Isn't it better to preach, reform and live by example like the Prophets, instaed of slaughter and masacre God's creations? Why kill our innocent women and children living their daily lives=9/11? Why not fight Army to Army, men to men? WHICH THEY SHOULDN'T even do that! But we Love God, so how could those men on the planes cry out to Allah and commit suicide and mass murder thinking it is for their faith. ONLY GOD KNOWS OUR HEARTS!
