1. why do people line up for interviews in bulk
2. most of the rural youth is moving to urban areas creating lot of imbalance in the system
3. IT looks enticing.. but still we need to empower rural base.
4. Still we see lot of bonded labours - who doesn't have work most of the year except few months.

No.This is just a temporary phenomenon but the net unemployment remains the same, which is not visible in the hype.I definitely appreciate the guys who have put tremendous efforts to bring this change and hats off to them. The problem is we are getting most of the jobs only from US and it is just impossible from Europe, leave alone the language barrier.

The most important question is why US is doing this by shooting on it's own legs?.This is business and not charity.Think.

no IT has not solved the unemployment problem in india. there are millons of vacant jobs (all fields of IT) there are thousand of IT graduates working in other field than IT or are jobless. unless and until the job policies are improved and corruption is removed Indian unemployment would remain the same.

YES, indeed. to solve unemployment dosent mean its eradication. IT industry has helped curbing it to a hell lot extent.let me answer in too parts:

1) it has helped coz IT has attracted many mncs into india coz of which there are on-campus and off-campus placements available. it is just that loosers will keep monkeying around throuout their life.jobs are always there for deser4bving candidates.

2) IT has not been able to give complete solution coz there are limited no.s of metro cities in ouir nation where mnc's are established. our 75% of economy is agro based which is a negleted sector and IT has nothing to do with it.
i guess you know now.

May be to some extent. It has become a hotch-potch for all engineering disciplines to merge into IT at the end...so, it does not matter if someone does civil, mechanical or chemical engineering. every one is aping to code...

but what about the rest of the folks? mainly, the 80-85% of the direct and indirect dependents on agriculture....that is a pandora's box everyone is comfortable to lock it and hide the key away...

no particular industry can solve the unemployment problem in india. b'coz of the growing population. but we can say the IT industry can invovle most. but its all a temporary booming, i thnk. sometimes bio-technology may be having a growth tomorrow! but we can say, with education only we can reduce the unemployment rate.

India is being exploited...again. Because of the desperate economic conditions, Indian workes are willing to be taken advantage of by employers who gleefully pay these people less than they are worth to do the job Americans used to do.
