the new music is no where as good.....

Hell no, they've all been touring, and there is two new untitled songs they've been playing on the road that are available for download at livemetallica.com, you just have to find the right show and pay for it, or maybe you could find them on limewire. I spend a few minutes every day at the metallica.com message boards, so you can take my word for it. No word on when they're going to the studio, or if they've already started to record, but Rick Rubin is producing this new album, and there's pretty high expectations (yes, even after stanger.) It should be out some time next year.

I very seriously doubt that he would be kicked out of the band that he founded... especially since he writes the majority of their songs and is their spokesman. Also, their official site doesn't say anything about him leaving, and I couldn't find anything on the net about it either... so I would say that you just heard another viscious rumor.
