please i want evidence from the Bible or from a Jewish/Hebrew religious source

i don't believe in reincarnation because everyone is special and unique and you don't get to be born again. my question, though, is regarding destiny and something i don't like saying; a curse. if i am correct, the Bible says something about if your forefathers did something wrong, the children would pay?? i really don't know but I do know a lot of good Catholic priests, very educated, who say that this is the case. Any comments?

I would say, the forefather's sins do pass to through the generations. However I think what this means when mentioned in the old Testament are genealogical sins such as addiction, pedophilia, suicidal thoughts, violent nature, etc. Even today, these still run in families and it is hard for individuals to defeat them; since they have been embedded in their blood for generations. But, just because your ancester did something sinful, doesn't mean you will pay for it, just trust in the Lord God and ask forgiveness (for your sins, not your ancestors) everyday and trust Jesus.
Remember Catholic Priests are not a reliable source. I feel they do not follow the true christian ways.

The sins of the father are visited upon the children. Words to that effect.

It's another scare tactic to keep you in line.

There are situations where that is very true - if the father has an STD, for instance, I believe in many cases the kids could catch it. But it's mostly a scare tactic.

"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments."
Exodus 20
