~No. When governments and religions are depleted and people treat one another with respect and simple consideration and compassion and equality, and poverty is abolished by a just redistribution of wealth, then most of the underlying bases of terrorism will be gone. Then all that remains is to either change human nature or eliminate free will. With that, terrorism will end.
Bader-Meinfoff, the Red Brigade, the SLA, the Tongs, The Khmer Rouge, the IRA or so many others were not Muslim. Why pick on only the flavor of the month?

Oil resources are a big part of middle eastern national economies, and are unlikely to be depleted any time soon. Terrorism is funded by many sources, although a great deal of money is coming from Saudi Arabia into the coffers of terrorist groups. It really doesn't cost a lot of money to fund a terrorist campaign. All you really need is one maniac, one passport, and one airline ticket. Remember, 9/11 was perpetrated by only 12 guys wielding 50 cent box cutters and a cardboard box painted to look like a bomb.

No, when petroleum resources are depleted we'll find alternative energy sources and the terrorists will find alternative funding sources.
Drugs, people smuggling, extortion, racketeering, counterfeit goods etc. All used by crime gangs to make big money, the terrorists will jump on the bandwagon. They're probably getting funding from these sources already.
They're already receiving funding from indivuduals, organisations and governments that are sympathetic to their cause.

Terrorists are not reacting because of being funded but because of mis-treatment, the funding is ancillary to the idea. When the resources dry up, there will be additional fighting or terrorism because of the food shortages and if global warming takes place and encroaches on farm lands with water, the fighting will become much worse...remember most farm land is low ground.

Terrorism is not only funded by petroleum. It is funded by diamonds and drugs. In addition, Muslims who have become economically successful in democratic countries send charity money which may end up in terrorist hands. Some people directly send money to finance terrorism.
Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors):
004:095 The two are not equal: those who sit at home (and do not join the fighting) _ unless they have a reason; they are handicapped _ and those who strive hard in the path of Allah with their wealth and lives. ...

i think life is too short to be judgmental about events and things unless we are not authoritaive about the complete background....no muslim nation has been proved to be sponsoring terrorism on state level.....it is the other way around and with out going into details let me submit that if you kindly peruse the world news carefully you would find that most trouble lies in areas where muslims are in majority where they are the oppressed and not the oppressors.....let me quote a few specific examples........in kashmir muslims are fighting for freedom against india......in palestine and in lebanon they are fighting for liberation against israel.....in bosnia they were crushed by the christians......in afghanistan they are again fighting for freedom against the whole west......and now in iraq again they are fighting for liberation against the u.s.a.....it surprises me that the oppressed are labelled as terrorists........pick up the hsitory of the last 50 years and let me know if any muslim nation has waged war against the west where as i can quote you that israel has waged umpteen number of wars against each and every neighbour in the middle east by unleashing the worst kind of violence on it's civilian populace..........

NO. First you must specify which reserves of petroleum because America has a huge amount. Secondly, terrorism can be done very cheaply and money can easily be found when they need it.

So, by buying fuel efficient cars and conserving energy, you're supporting terrorists by ensuring their oil supplies will last longer? That's an interesting take on things...I think you should sell that idea to Big Oil. I can see the ads now "Fight terrorism, buy an Escalade!"
