Anything means anything.

'Enamoured' means 'liking', so the guy's saying that he doesn't like being single very much, but he's setting his sights too high to settle for just anyone.

Sounds rather a cocky bugger, if you ask me.

However, he does know his English language, suggesting that he has brains, so he might just have a point.

I think the same way. I would like to have a girlfriend but not just anyone would do. Would you go to a car lot and just randomly pick a car or hold out for one you really want??? You get what you pay for! And it will be as-is with no warranty!!

HAHA!! I know, just like a guy to use a car purchase as an analogy.

I've had several girlfriends and all were different, I just haven't yet met one I'd like to spend the rest of my life with.

If that's what he's saying he is a commitment phobe, He'll probably never settle for anyone because he will find fault with every girl he's with. Although in his perfect world he wants to be with someone, it may just be a pipe dream and in reality he prefers being on his own. Depends how old he is as well.

I am privileged to be messaging a little angel :-)

He does sound a little cocky and pretentious at first reading

However it also seems that he might have insecurities and unrealistic expectations from a relationship which is why he is not in one

He could also be masking a deeper truth such as 'I am so needy, self involved and disloyal to a relationship' I cant hold on to one

The truth is perhaps his words have to be taken in the fuller context of the person and that until that is known, tread with caution

There could be elements of honesty and deceit in his words

Everyone has insecurities and many do not declare their true agenda/ needs early for fear of rejection

Take care

Enamour.
To fill with love and desire. Charm or captivate.
Much enamoured by her, for example.

He wants to settle but is too picky to find someone to settle with. No one is "perfect" in his eyes.

that he isn't happy being single but realizes he is in fact picky...he would rather be single than spend time with someone he isn't really interested in, which is good as it means he won't use somebody....hes probably a nice person.
