It means that you give away too much information that can be used against you or end up hurting you.
Some people say way too much and it ruins things. For example, some people will go on a blind date and the person they're with will start talking about all the problems in their lives, their relationships with their exes, and give way too much information ruining the date.
The other thing about being too honest is that people will give up way too much information to where they give the other party an advantage over them.
For example, my mom once got mad at my dad when they were trying to negotiate the payment for a car in 1992. The salesperson asked if $16,500 was okay. My dad said, "Sure." The salesperson then said he'd go talk to his manager.
My mom was mad and stepped on my dad's foot because he opened his mouth too soon. If he had just kept his mouth shut, they may have been able to get the car much cheaper.
Even if you can afford that, you should still try to go for the best price.
You'll even see that with parents that are unable to say no to their kids that demand money from them. They should really say no to their kids, but they are too honest, don't want to lie saying they have no money, or can't hide the fact that they're driving around in $50,000 Beamers that obviously means they have money.
A lot of people who are terrible liars or not used to lying end up having friends that will borrow money from them because they're too honest for their own good and can't say they don't have any money.

I honestly don't know or care what your last question was. I honestly think that there can be a right to something if it's impossible, so since the internet is practically impossible to control anyway how can there be a right to control it? I also honestly think that no monopoly should exist on a means of communication, or anything else for that matter, therefore eliminating whatever right might be derived. However, I honestly believe that one should be allowed to do what they want with what they own so long as it didn't imfringe upon someone else, so if someone somehow owned the whole internet (however many trillions of dollars in assets that would entail) that that person would have the right to control it.

Sometimes, little details can be left out to save someone from being embarrased, or if you found £5 in the street, are you the kind of person to hand it in or keep it? Handing it in would make you too honest for your own good.

It means that people that are not so honest will take advantage of you! I once sold a girl a house on a land contract but, instead of drawing up a legal land contract,I just had my lawyer put the house in her name so that if I died before she had it paid for,it would be hers. She made 4 1/2 payments & then sold the house for a fraction of what she owed me on it! I wrongfully assumed that she was as honest as I am!

It's a cop out line when someone is trying to comfort you for pissing someone off (am I right?) OR It's a way of saying you said something stupid and you probably meant well, but well "you're just too honest for your own good"

It is actually philisophy. It means if u told just a little white lie, or goes against what u really believe, turn your head and not seeing what u are really doing. Small fib to gain prosperity in some way, then people do it. And since u don't, that saying they think fits u to a tee.

sometimes when we tell people the truth they judge us for us instead of appreciating the honesty. They use truth against us and twist things round so that it hurts us in the end. Its ok though, the people who use your truth to hurt you are not very good people, they tend to be selfish. Karma will come back to them eventually. Never worry about being too honest providing you are not being hurtful to others......the fact is, most people can't handle the truth!

It means that you have said too much. You have told the truth but it will likely get you or someone else in trouble in someway or another. That is how people usually use it anyways.
