It appears that Marcus Trescothick's "stress" problems have been much more present since England started to play back-to-back Test Matches. Is he someone for whom the mateyness of the team environment gets to feel overwhelming after a couple of weeks intensely together? Should Fletcher & co be making sure he spends quiet time with a book between Tests rather than "team bonding"?

I wasn't aware that Tresco was out with "stress".

I supose its possible - but you have to remember that "stress" isn't just being all het up and upset emotionally. Stress can cause really bad physical symptoms - migraines, IBS (agonising stomach complaint), back pain etc and often when people are ill with "stress" its actually one of these side effects of stress they are suffering from, which are just as debilitating as any physical illness.

Its a shame that Tresco's out because he's one of the best batsmen England have IMHO. Hopefully he'll be back for the Ashes as they need to show the Aussie's who's boss!

I thought he was out with a "sensitive injury".

Trescothic is a very talented player. He has performed fairly well for England in the past. However, he is having a bad patch of late, which is happening in the case all players. The best thing to do to get him back to the form, is to allow him some rest to cover over his problems.

From the news reports, it sounds like he is having a psychological problem. Now, that IS disturbing, more than a physical problem. Say a panic attack or anxiety related issues, ahead of the Ashes and ICC trophy can be very damaging indeed. He sure needs rest and therapy urgently.
