We used to go to the 'Saturday Morning' pictures and the films were usually 'cowboys and Indians' type things. So, to be honest I can't tell you the first. I used to be fascinated by the Pathe News, though.
It could well have been 'Snow White' - which terrified the poo out of me, I can tell you - all that thunder and lightning when the old queen transformed!
The first one I can really detail is a lot later - Paint Your Waggon! When they were burying that guy and saw gold in the ground and they flipped him up into the air after the priest said his bit! My Mum chuckled out loud for ages - and really embarrassed my little sister and myself!

The first film that I ever saw in the cinema was The Jungle Book! I remember it because there was a balcony in the cimena in my home town, and you could smoke upstairs. My siblings and I got *** ash flicked down on us and people chewed up peanuts and spat them out on top of us! Lovely, huh??

It was either The Aristocats or Jungle Book, back in nineteen hundred and frozen to death, at the Ritz Cinema in Gosport. It was then a wonderful art - deco building, one giant screen. All I remember about it, was the seats were not very sympathetic to the bum..........a situation that the Ritz had until it was closed years after.

Well, I'm sure it wasn't the first I saw... but the first date I had was when E.T. opened in the theaters. Toward the end of the movie, she said, "Don't go, E.T..."

I laughed out loud. At her.

That was the last time I had the chance to date her. I think, I was about 12 at the time.
