have you tested the alternator?maybe faulty plugs or wires?try getting a diagnostic scan on your trucks computer.there could be alot of things going wrong there,check the air intake too.

Don't touch the ingnition coil wire unless you want curly hair like me. That year really eats up coil wires open the hood at night and spray water from a squirt gun or spray bottle at the distributor cap and coil wire watch the fireworks. The wire Will appear ok on the outside but when you ohm the wire it will be open circuit. I have seen no core all the way burnt out and somehow the truck started.
