Be careful. Most downloadable screensavers can be full of spyware however they are usually ok from places like film and TV sites but always scan with an anyi-virus before installing and if it is installed check your computer with a reasonable anti-syware program.

As long as you have protection on your pc it SHOULD be fine, but if I were you I would remove it, especially if its an animated one, I downloaded a few of these, and started to have a few problems, and a couple of days after that my computer wouldnt boot and I had to restore the whole system. Also, these downloads can install unwanted programs and adware and such. Run a virus check on your pc or a full system scan, that should let you see if you have got anything. Good Luck xx

Everything is safe, if you have good anti-virus and spyware softwares installed and Active Watching Status. As in the software will alert when you open an unsafe directory, website, cd etc.
I recommend you to do a scan on your harddrive and not to worry. If it was a severe virus, you'd be over by now.

To be proactive, i would suggest you download "siteadvisor" first.
It tells you what sites are good/bad. Since most of the viruses/spywares/adwares/trojans come from such "free screensaver/desktop theme sites", you can stay away from such sites with the help of siteadvisor which will mark such websites red so you will know wot sites are safe.
BEST OF LUCK

Hi Adi,
Pretty cool that you gave me the chance to open up.
I once downloaded a typical screen saver. Of course, I really liked it...but it ended up installing some scripts which triggers up some very ugly porn sites. I was left with no other option than to uninstall it.
So, if you notice any ugly scene like I did, and you ain't comfortable with it...give it the RED CARD.
Have a nice day. Bye.

Provided you have adequate anti-virus software, any bug should have been found and isolated immediately you downloaded the programme.
If your computer isn't protected then I wouldn't even connect to the net.

If you EVER download anything from anywhere, before you actually install it, check it for viruses - we use AVG - and only if it's safe should you then proceed.
