I keep seeing adverts on the Travel Channel for property in Romania and it looks great. But most websites make it sound like a difficult country to get around because of limited or poor transportation. I just want to go for a week to check it out. Where should I go and how do I get around?

In a week you can't find out a lot of a wonderful country, full of history, culture and natural beauties. Maybe you'll arrive, by plane, in Bucharest, so stay just 2-3 days to see the Art Museum, the Village Museum, the Parliament building (the largest in the world, after the Pentagon one). You can go on Prahova's Valley (there are beautiful resorts) and in the region of Transylvania, where are some gorgeous medieval cities (Brasov, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Bran). Trust me, you'll enjoy your trip.

I went to Romania many, many years ago when I was 5 years old. All I can remember of that holiday was that there were no sweets allowed and that the beach had millions of woodlice on it.

That is all I can remember, just the bad stuff!!
