If you are referring to the book "The DaVinci Code" or the movie based on the book, the code was found near paintings done by Leonardo DaVinci.

It's the last name of the renaissance painter, scientist, inventor, civil engineer, etc. Leonardo da Vinci.

He is the most famous of the renaissance men, partly because he anticipated so many inventions which were not built then, but have now come to pass--like helicopters and airplanes. His paintings were wonderful, but there is a pastel drawing of his in London's National Gallery, which was a sketch for a later painting that I like better than all his paintings. Somehow, in the sketch there is more life--perhaps because he was capturing lines and essence at that point.

Because he wrote his notebook in mirror image he is a good target for conspiracy theories, and Dan Brown used him for that his FICTIONAL book. But don't make the mistake of going down that road of mysterious and fake conspiracies. Leonardo's real life is quite exciting enough for anyone who is interested in him.

Leonardo da Vinci was a very famous artist and inventor - a genius who made invaluable contributions to a variety of fields from art and the study of the human anatomy to engineering.

Famous Paintings - The Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, etc.

He is believed to have been the first to create a machine with which he hoped to fly (it was modelled on the wings of a bird). But unfortunately he failed in this attempt.

He is also famous for having studied human anatomy (by cutting up cadavers in secret) and incorporating this knowledge of human anatomy into his paintings and sculptures to make them more realistic. This brought about a quantum change in art in Europe.

Leonardo da Vinci was one of the three greatest artists of the Renaissance, along with Raphael Urbino and Michelangelo Buonarotti. He was a universal genius. His drawings anticipate many modern inventions. It is sad that his name is used in such nonsense as Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code". Poor Leonardo would surely spin in his grave if he could know this.

Do you mean as in Da Vinci Code?

Read the book, it's very interesting.

Leonardo was a real person. He was a very famous artist. (Ever heard of the Mona Lisa).

The conspiracy of the book is that there are supposed to be secret messages in his paintings which give clues to the fact that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus and bore his child.

Just a conspiracy though, don't read too much into it!!
