How can you tell if your 6 month old has strep or other throat virus? My husband has had a very bad sore throat for days now and hasn't had time to go get it checked cuz of his crazy work and school schedule, and now today our infant has been fussy and coughing a lot (doesn't sound like a cold, though) and having a hard time sleeping unless we give her tylenol.
Would it be serious enough to take her to a doctor to be checked?

from a parent veiw if it is interputing her sleep and she has to have meds to sleep then yes take her to the doctor that is what my peditration always says if it interupts there sleep they need to be seen. The only way you can determine if they have strep throat or ne other throat viruses is to get themt tested by the pediatration.

Your baby is sick. Go bring her to a doctor. The bad thing some times when the baby becomes less irritable (good baby) some folks may see it as if she is doing well. If the baby becomes less responsive (does not want to feed, sleeps more), she can be in more serious condition. A check whenever the baby is sick is warranted.

yes make an appointment Strep can cause serious heart problems in small children.. Its not so serious for adults and our bodies will eventually fight off the bacteria however children can not do this.. Strep can be a very serious thing and Id take my child in immedietly.

make her an appointment with her doctor only they can tell (with test) if your baby has strep or not. If she does then she will need to be seen & the sooner the better ~ Good Luck

becareful if your baby is fussy and doesn`t eat milk or supplemental food so these symptoms may be the evidence of infection I suggest to you don`t use tynelol and visit your baby doc
because in most cases it`s a bacterial infection and must been treated with antibiotics.

those are questions you will desire to be asking your primary practitioner. no you could actually inform you what meds you will provide up by using fact saying blue and eco-friendly pills do no longer help. Write down your questions and ask your primary practitioner at your next appointment.
