our computer had only 6 gb hard drive originally until we added a new 80 gb hard drive. the installation software that came with the new one gave us the option to copy all files from the old drive to the new, and use the new one as the boot drive. we did that, but now we have no use for all the files on the old drive and want to delete all of them since they're copied to the new. my question is if windows is deleted from the old drive, will that have any bad effect on my startup or windows performance? the exact copy is on the new one now but i just want to make sure. any helpful info is appreciated.

Take the 6 Gb hard drive out / disconnect it and see if it still boots up fine, no error messages, etc. It should. If it does then throw your 6 Gb hard drive in the trash or sell it on eBay for $5.

if u copy your windows to the new Hard, u can't format or delete old Hard.
but if you install a new windows into new hard u can format old Hard.
if u want to install windows on your new hard u must Fdisk or format your old hard and setup new windows on 1 of drives on your new Hard
good luck

hi, i do no longer think of so, you won't have the ability to easily reproduction and paste the folder from hard disk to a different one. domicile windows needs registry and another device documents which you won't have the ability to reproduction. in all probability you could desire to get the domicile windows Installer CD to get domicile windows in yet another hard disk. would help.

First take a good backup with a program like Norton Gost http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=br&pvid=ghost10 and then you can do anything you want.
