Yoga relaxes your muscles and your body.

Gut gas (known as fart when released below) comes from the air you swallow while talking and/or eating, and the by-product of bacterial metabolism.
You can reduce it by not talking or not eating too much.
Yoga positions and movements can be conducive to bring the gas to the rectum or anus for the fart.
If yoga relaxes you too much, it will not be enough to relax your intestinal muscles, which are controlled involuntarily (automatic). If intestines stop working, the gut contents will be retained in the lumen.

Don't know about yoga, but after to calisthenics for karate, if I have eaten I usually get the same way. I was told it is due to working stomach muscles and getting the gasses churning in my belly. A natural part of life, don't worry about it, just remember it happens and control where you go after-wards.
;-)

Hope that helps some.

I agree, its because your body is in a relaxed state. Try eating a banana about an hour before you start your yoga as this might help your digestive system.
