OK, I'm morbidly obese. If I could not be served in fast-food restaurants, I would rarely leave my home. And if I had to be served in conventional restaurants only, I'd get more calories because they serve larger portions. It is indeed possible to eat moderately in a fast-food place. It's a matter of choices.
What can regulations do to make people take care of themselves better? What business is it of the government? And why would a fast food restaurant limit their service (i.e., their profits) without government interference?
We do not yet have a complete Nanny Culture, but California at least is certainly leaning that way. It is time to realize that each of us is responsible for ourselves. I am morbidly obese because of a variety of factors well in my past, and the fact that I am not willing to make a big medical deal (surgery, hospitalized fasting, stuff like that) out of changing it. Certainly I regret my mistakes in the past, and warn young people not to let themselves get fat. But this is NOT an area the government has any business regulating.
The more you regulate, the more you have rebellion against the regulations. You want to make sugar an illegal drug? Should you have a license to eat french fries? Just where, exactly, do you draw the line? Someone has to be the grown-up, after all! Let's do something really wild and act as if everyone over 18 is in fact an adult and responsible for their own lives.

No they shouldnt refuse service. Being refused wont stop the situation...its very simple to see why. They could send a friend or relative in to grab the food and walk back out again. In the long run its the obsese person who has to take responsibility for themselves. Not the company - as long as they can educate the public about their food and what is in it thats the main thing.

No way as there are lots of reasons why some people are obese, some of the time through no fault of there own,it could be the medication they are taking,or thyroid glands, i really find it hard that you could even think of such a thing,i'am obese through no fault of my own,it's because i had my left leg amputared in 04,and due to the lack of mobility, and some comfort eating i became obese, and i'am now glad to say i'am losing it,but don't be so harsh on obese people please

No, its the costumers responspibility of what they eat. And if they were gonna refuse service to obese people, they should refuse service to healthy people because they will just end up obese if they continue to eat it. Oh yeah, and what if these obese people like being fat?

I don't see why not. In Australian pubs and clubs we have Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) and bar workers have the right to refuse alcohol to intoxicated persons. Whats the difference with food.
In I think Norway any food manufacturer found to be using trans fat is severely fined.

why is it the fast food resturants responsibility? if you have a closet full of shoes should the shoe store stop selling to you? Why do we sell cigerettes, alcohol should we stop selling candy and chips in the stores too?

they have no right to do that.........they do have the right to refuse service but that is reserved for people that cause problems and are loud and out of control. this is a free country and being biased regardless of size, or how people look is the most stupid thing i have ever heard... i am rating this as a bad question.....how would you like it if someone did that to you because your hair was not what they thought it should be, or you had a old car, or one did not like what you are wearing
get real and check yourself..............

Like hammy's answer, the fast food industry would go out of business if they started refusing business to fat folks.

If all restaurants decided to do that then all of them will have a decrease in business by at least 50%. I don't think they would be stupid enough to lose all those profits.

They should but they can't. That would be discrimination. Most fast food restaurants do offer better options then just burgers now, but you can't make the customer eat it.
