Dootson is a typical CDL mill. They won't teach you to be a truck driver, only to pass the test and get a license. (That's about 10% of what you need to know as a truck driver) Contact some of the trucking companies that take school grads and ask them. (Werner, England, Swift, etc.)I just checked the Dootson web site and it does not have job placement services, just a list of companies that might hire you.

Some of the companies have their own training programs where they train you free. Sounds great except they will give you minimal training and you have to sign a contract to stay with them for a year. Get tired of being their slave for the year and quit and they charge for the training which no one else will accept as school training.

I would recommend you find a school that offers a full training course. (usually 16+ weeks of 5 day a week training) They will teach you to be a truck driver rather than just how to pass the test. Don't get macho and think you know how to drive because you drive a car. Trucking is a completely different thing!!!

The closest I know of that I would recommend is A.I.T. in Las Vegas. Here is a link to CA state listed schools: http://driversed.com/truck-driving-schools/california-truck-driving-schools.aspx Note that Dootson isn't in the list!
