My daughter, who is 9 told me there was no toothfairy, but she was going to put her tooth in an envelope under her pillow and get some money. I took her tooth and put a piece of dryer fuzz in the envelope and wrote "Thanks from the Fuzz Fairy". She was mad at me. Was I wrong?

I think what you did was absolutely right!! She knows there is no tooth fairy and to expect money from you still would be wrong. However, she is only 9 and it doesn't hurt to play along and I think the way you dealt with it was great, and I'm sure she will remember the incident when she is older and laugh. Kids can take things very seriously at times. She still got her money in the end.

Your daughter is confused about the tooth fairy and you introduce a fuzz fairy? Continue to give the money secretly- children still believe in fantasies.

Many children know there is no real Santa Claus but will still "eat " you if you remove the fantasy.

You weren't wrong by doing this. Explain to her that you didn't mean to hurt her feelings or upset her. Make it up and give her a special hug and slip some money under her pillow the next night, maybe with a, "Im Sorry I upset you" note or card, ending, "Love mommy!" Kids this age aren't sure what they believe allthough they are VERY smart and they KNOW what they believe, it's just hard for them to express how they feel and what they believe.

Give it a second try. She'll may just feel better. She'll know that you tried to help her feel better. Even though she told you that she doesn't believe in the toothfairy anymore, she'll still enjoy getting a suprise under her pillow when she wakes up!

Hope this helped!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL it was funny!! AHAHHAHAAH

nope... if your kid doesn't believe in toothfairy, and knows that it's you putting that money, why not buy from her the tooth?... and in fact, it's a silly thing to do now..

so, might as well get her a gift for her tooth, like a new toothbrush than money..

lately i realised that my brother has become a money-lover. and it has made negative aspects of his personality grow... like he looked at my granma's golden old tooth and said: "hey! i'll take that off and make money with it!!!" and he's only 8 years old..

kids are becoming so materialistic lately due to such habits... migh as well not do that toothfairy thing anymore especially that the kidis not believing in this.

get her a new toothpaste bubble gum flavour, or a new tooth brush with barbie on it... or sthg... but not money anymore..

good luck.

Interesting question. I don't have kids but it seems you were right in your action. If there is no tooth fairy (according to your daughter), then there should be no reason for her to get money for loose tooth. Now one could argue that when kids stop believing in Santa the presents should stop (under this logic) but Christmas is a bigger thing than money from the tooth fairy.

lol. You're funny. You have every right to stop toothfairy money once the kid stops believing. I mean, you CAN keep paying her if you want, but you don't have to because she knows it's not real. You can tell her that when she believed the toothfairy was real, it made real money appear under her pillow. Now that she believes the toothfairy is fake, she'll get fake money under her pillow. and um, fuzz i guess. Tell her she now has to do work and chores to get money. that's what comes with growing up, and the "age of not believing".

Well she is growing up and understanding things.. U cant punish her for that. The Fuzz fairy stuff was nasty.

I suggest u become the fairy now. So she understands that it is her mom who is giving her the money. That will bring ur child closer to u.

So let her let go of imaginary people like the tooth fairy or santa. Not the Easter Bunny though, coz he's real, he's real!!! (LOL)

that was a little mean but the trick is just don't do the old under the pillow trick just give the money to her make her fell grown up but still make her not so mad for saying the fluff fairy came if you have younger kids who still believe still do the pillow trick with them but i tend to let them put the tooth in a Glass of water and exchange the money in there two. do it that way so give that a try
bye

You can still give her money. It is sort of tradition to get money for losing your baby teeth even if you doesn't believe in a 'fairy' that takes all the teeth.
