Why are well cared for lawns referred to as manicured but not pedicured?

The principles in the grooming of the lawn applies the same principles as in the care of the nails which are termed as manicure for the hands and pedicure for the feet. The term manicure however is the preferred term used based on the fact that pedicure basically means a manicure for the feet.
