Before you get into the bathtub, turn your AC off. When the heat and steam reach the houses sensors to cool back down, the AC will kick on. That is, if you have Central air. Just turn it off before you get into the bathtub!
By the way, your first answer, "YOU HAVE A BATHTUB IN YOUR HOUSE?" That person must live in a BARN!

Sometimes I stay in hotel rooms where this happens. The explanation is that the steam from the bath could activate the smoke alarm......eh?.........and everybody would have to be evacuated.
Has your air con got an OFF control? Try that. It annoys me too.
