The answer is no.
According to Einstein Theory of Relativity,
the higher the speed of an object, the greater the real mass of that object. That is,

m = m0 / square_root(1 - v^2 / c^2)

where m0 = mass of an object at rest
m = real mass of the object travelling at speed v
v = speed of the object
c = speed of light at vaccum

You can see that for any non-zero mass object,
m0 > 0, if the object moves faster, v increase,
then the expression square_root(1 - v^2 / c^2)
will decrease, so the real mass m of that object will increase. If speed v approaches to speed of light, then the mass will increase exponentially and approaches to INFINITY. That is,
v = c, then
v^2 / c^2 = c^2 / c^2 = 1
square_root(1 - v^2 / c^2)
= square_root(1 - 1) = 0
m = m0/0 = INFINITE
In this case, we need a INFINITE force to accelerate the object towards the speed of light in order to overcome the INFINITE mass of that object.... But it is INPOSSIBLE to achieve a INFINITE force. This is unbelievable and too abstract. Isn't it???

Even though we can invent such a machine,
we still can NOT travel at speed of light.
Before the speed of your body approaches to speed of light, due to the very large mass of your body, you will be teared into many many pieces by the shrinking force applied on your body...
You know???

Never happen. The inconsistencies in shows like Star Trek have completely screwed up peoples concepts of such things.

There we were, converting mass to energy and back, preserving all the information thru the conversions. Meanwhile, people were still getting sick, growing old and dying. One of these problems is about a gazillion times easier to address than the other.

'old dude' has given a practical example of how human being moves through daylight. In my opinion human being can be transfered from one place to another in the absense of light but you cannot be guided in the right direction and so cannot reach your destination unless some other energy such as sound is used to guide you through.

properly convinced and no yea it would want to be move ed threw genes a toddler might want to be born with more desirable female chromosomes then male chromosomes making the guy have more desirable estrogen then testosterone besides the very undeniable reality that persons can also opt for to be gay yet when so as that they do have a larger testosterone then estrogen yet they want more desirable male desires. SO the answer is they're both genetic and optionally attainable.

I think if they developed the technology, light is an vibration so are the molecules that make up what we all call solid matter. They are just at different wave lengths. If we could understand that system better I think it could be a possibility.

No, this would involve converting their mass into energy, and then back into mass. It would be kind of like burning a log, and then trying to put all of the smoke and ashes back together to rebuild the log.

After you die, you will be transferred through the light. Read up on some near death experiences. It is amazing the similarities that they exhibit.

Sure, I work at night and drive home in the light every day!

Seriously...give up on the sci-fi for a bit if you don't know the answer already!

Not yet. But I rather imagine that when that happens, the transport will be in a worm hole rather than a light beam.
