Has Nomar ever explained why he taps his toes so many times during his at-bats? I count AT LEAST 3 taps per foot every pitch!
That cracks me up! : D

scuba steve: yeah I do!
doglas: yeah I would!
And I'm talkin' bout Nomar Garciaparra from the L.A. Dodgers.
He's big enough to have just one name, like Madonna or Elvis! : )

I also think it's a superstitious thing he has. Have you ever seen how he goes up and down the dugout steps? He kinda looks like a crab because he goes sideways and has to put both feet on every step. Now that is hilarious! You gotta love Nomar.

Nomar probably does the toe tapping to help get him into a rhythm for the pitch. Joe Morgan use to flap his back arm up in down while waiting for the pitch.

Nomar does that ritual bc he has a sort of OCD where he has to have his batting gloves and cleats as tight as possible. That is why he pulls his batting gloves and taps his cleats on the ground before the pitch.

Obviously people don't know much about dance!! Dance is one of the HARDEST sports out there. Not many sports require you to be graceful, strong, flexible, and memorize 3-5 minutes choreography for each dance! I just suggest that you ignore them, or tell them off. Ask them if they can do the splits, or memorize over 20 minutes of choreography. You should be proud of who you are and what you do. Don't hide from your passion in life. Good luck! (or you could just show them your legs!! hehe)

Nervous habit? He is playing very well right now, so I'm sure the Dodgers don't mind how many times he taps his shoes.

Its to get him relax at the plate, so he can hit the ball. Its timeing, Helps him to keep his weight back, to hit the ball better. All batters use something to help them keep their weight back. Weight back allows u to hit the ball better.

its a ritual. He has OCD. He believes if he doesn't do it he will not be able to hit the ball.

it's a habit from when he was a kid......the shoes on his feet when he played use to be too big so he'd tap them to move them up......
