Practice is the only way, and practicing with other people is the best. You can also practice by watching TV shows and talking along. I did that with a French show once, and the French I had forgotten (what little there was) started coming back.

practice is the best with all languages. Just remember, at least in American English. Sentence structure is not very important in communication, although people will get annoyed with you. But most of those people probobly do not speak Eglish properly either. For instance I think it is correct to have said "people from whom you will annoy". Another example would be that English sentence structure is very flexible. for example if you were to say
The dog ran across the road
Across the road the dog ran
The road the dog ran across
All of these are understandable. Even if you say it a way that is completely wrong it could be understood
Dog across the road ran
The road the dog across ran
The dog the road ran across
Anyone who speaks the language will know that the dog ran across the road, oddly even if that is not what you actually said. However it is best to learn to speak as correctly as possible. But I am just saying don't worry about not being understood, because nobody is listening to anyone anyway.

Hi,
I really admire what you are doing and I'm sure you are doing better than you think. I'm around a lot of international people and I have great respect for them and their efforts. Please don't ever feel bad about yourself. I speak very good english ( I was born in the US) and I never think badly of anyone who is trying to learn our difficult language. I really hope you understand how great you are doing and just give yourself a break.
My suggestion to you would be this:
I think it really helps to be around others that speak good english. Also, it helps even more if the people are very talkative. Somehow, by hearing all those words the brain soaks up the language a bit more.
Also, try to find a Phonics book or program like "hooked on phonics." When I was in elementary school we used the phonics method of learning to read and write and most students in our school were way above average in their skills. Try looking online for information about this. I honestly think it's just wonderful.
My final suggestion is to try speaking English as much as possible, rather than your native language. Try to make more english-speaking friends so you can practice your skills.
Be patient and it will happen in time.
Good luck.

English IS a difficult language and I'm impressed you're learning it. The reason it's so tough is because there are two very different grammar systems. English in the very beginning was a Germanic language (like German or Dutch). A lot of the "base" words for English like "the," "a," and "that" are part of this grammar system. In 1066 when Normans invaded England they were able to merge their Latin or Romance based grammar system into the language. That's where we get a lot of our words. For instance, "cow" is an Old English word and "beef" comes from the Old French "boef." We use cow to mean the animal and beef for the meat of the animal.
If you want to improve your English, the best thing you can do is watch lots of English and American television shows. Good luck!

If you know anybody in school or work or in the nearby who speak American English, that will be your best bet, Reason is just in case you not understand a word and/or words the person can translate it better to you. Watch English TV with subtitle so you can see the words and and hear them at the same time. and do not forget a Dictionary it helps a lot. I hope it is in English and in you home Lang, so you can understand the words better, i hope that will help good luck.

I agree with levyrat. Practice makes perfect. The second best thing is watch a lot of english-language TV series. Another is to do a lot of writing. Indirectly it can help your grammar and vocabulary, as it increases your confidence, too.

1. dont ever afraid to try . you 'll never know, if you never try it once. believe me if you have tried it just once and you don't get satisfied of it, you won't afraid to speak for the second and third time
2. keep learning. just like what old people said, learning is not only in formal classes but also outside of it. meaning, even if you are watching television, you can learn english by watching english programme. or listening to english music you like
3. speak it to yourself. meaning, if you just found a new word or phrase, speak it out till you can hear it your own. if you are afraid to speak to others, this will prepare yourself to have the couragous.
hope this will help you...
