No, it's far too scary now days to give a ride to someone you don't know, or accept a ride from someone you know nothing about.
I'm not saying all hitchhikers, or the people that give rides to them are bad, but it's not like the serial killers and rapist have signs around their necks warning you how dangerous they are. I've seen too many true crime shows that talk about cases of people that were either killed after picking up a hitchhiker, or accepting a ride while they were hitchhiking. It's just not worth it.

This family wasn't hitchhiking, but we saw them walking in the cold rain. There was a Daddy, Mommy and Baby. We stopped and let them in and took them home. They appreciated the lift, and told us that nobody has ever done that for them.

My husband stopped to provide a guy a experience......... we later realized that replaced into loopy......! you want to be fantastic, yet you don't know who you've on your vehicle. each body is loopy. don't know if it is city legend or if my pal being honest....... yet he suggested he picked up a youthful female 20ish and once in vehicle informed him to provide her $one hundred or she might want to initiate screaming out the window for help and may want to tell the police that he grabbed her breast and requested for a BJ. He gave her $40, all he had and he or she were given out! no more desirable rides!

Yes once on a cold day I picked up a poor old crippled woman walking along the side of the road. She turned out to be a man dressed up in a big coat and boots and hat. He killed me.
Let that be a lesson to you.
