Sondra on here is right. You CAN make it work long distance if you both truly love each other. I had been living with my girlfriend for about 3 months when she was called up. She was stationed up north and I am in Texas. When she came back on a 3 day pass we got married. We had talked about marriage before but I think we kind of rushed into it because we were scared she was going to be sent over seas. Then she had one more visit several months later and we spent another 3 days together. That was the last time I saw her. We did talk on the phone and write letters but I think it was just to much for her and after a year she told me she wanted a divorce. So we did and there are no hard feelings between us. We both know now that we never should have gotten married out of fear. But like Sondra says, if you are TOTALLY committed to someone you CAN make it work. It's not easy by any means but it can be done. Good Luck.

As an Air Force wife my hubby and I have spent lots of time apart. Visit if you can-I've been to Korea and Italy when he's been stationed there. Phone calls and e-mails are essential-you need to continue to be a couple even though you're separated. If you go hanging out with your single friends at bars, etc., you'll start thinking like them and thinking they have more fun. Don't go there girl-a loving, commited marriage no matter how far apart you are is worth it's weight in gold. Good luck and hang in there-the homecoming will be awesome!!! And remember the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence!!!
