hello there!
as a fresh graduating doctor I can share some of my tips - hope it will help you:
first off all - u choose to study a proffession which is hard and the way is long and tiresome.
that is why you have to keep something in your mind:
never forget to enjoy your self:
enjoy your years as a medical student - it is one of the greatest expirences of your life....
enjoy "time off" - and always find time to "time off" - go out a bit, spend time with friends and family, fall in love - you can not just study all these years!
now, after saying that, let's focous on: "how to study?"
I recommand coming to lectures - as frequent as possible.
bookes are good, books contain all the information, but you will remamber better things that have been discussed in the class prior to the reading.
the most important time to your training is the rotations in hospital. you just don't know how much you can study from patients and how well you will remember diseases and syndromes that you have actually seen.
Do not mistake and think that a few more hours with books is better than just waiting in the hospital for new patient to "pop up" - because every new paient is a new world of knowledge.
one more little thing:do remember that communication is also an important thing to learn if you wish to become a good doctor. knowledge is not the most important thing when you are facing a sick man/woman.
good luck! for more questions will be more than happy to answer:

You can prepare yourself to succeed in your studies.
Try to develop and appreciate the following habits:
Take responsibility for yourself
Responsibility is recognition that in order to succeed
you can make decisions about your priorities, your time, and your resources
Center yourself around your values and principles
Don't let friends and acquaintances dictate what you consider important
Put first things first
Follow up on the priorities you have set for yourself, and don't let others, or other interests, distract you from your goals
Discover your key productivity periods and places
Morning, afternoon, evening; study spaces where you can be the most focused and productive. Prioritize these for your most difficult study challenges
Consider yourself in a win-win situation
You win by doing your best and contributing your best to a class, whether for yourself, your fellow students, and even for your teachers and instructors. If you are content with your performance, a grade becomes an external check on your performance, which may not coincide with your internally arrived at benefits
First understand others, then attempt to be understood
When you have an issue with an instructor, for example a questionable grade, an assignment deadline extension, put yourself in the instructor's place. Now ask yourself how you can best make your argument given his/her situation
Look for better solutions to problems
For example, if you don't understand the course material, don't just re-read the material. Try something else! Consult with the professor, a tutor, an academic advisor, a classmate, a study group, or your school's study skills center
Look to continually challenge yourself

Make a realistic schedule and pace yourself. KNow how much you want to finish in how much time.
Make some time (even 30 mins) away from studying so you are not burnt out.
Find a space with least amount of distractions like a quite corner in the library (make sure you don't tell yoru friends about it). When you sit down to study make sure you have some healthy snack and lot of water with you to keep your energy level up. Fruits are good. Take 5 mins stretch breaks every 2 hours or so.
Good luck.

I think that the best way to study is to sit down in a comfortable chair and have all your books or papers in fornt of you. Put on some headphones and play some type of instrumental music quietly. This way its not too quiet but you can still tune out the things around you. Sit there and read the information as many times as you need until you get it. Also, for things that are hard to remember, writing them down makes it easier for your mind to take in and remember it.

Everyone has their own way of studying. Certain studying habits work for some and not for others, and vice versa. Personally, I like to read over the notes I took in class within a 24 hour period of when I took it, so the material stays fresh in my mind.

baroque music has been proven to help people study, so listen to that whilst you study.
different people study better using different techniques.
here are some different ones:
-write things in your own words
-write things out over and over again without looking at your notes. read through your notes and then see how much you can write without looking.
-say it out loud
-test yourself or ask someone else to test you
-teach or explain it to someone else
-use flashcards with the question on the front and answer on the back
-use acronymns to help you remember procedures. Use the first letter of each point and make a sentence with the letters. such as: my very earnest mother just sat under north pole (the planets: mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune, pluto)
-make question and answer tapes that you can listen to on the go
-do past papers under exam conditions
-quiz yourself
-do as many different questions and types of questions you can find
hope that helps! try using some of these ideas and find out what works better for you, hearing something, looking at something or saying something.
